Drawing from the legacy of decades of Americana string music, “Backstory” will present bluegrass, traditional and modern folk, Western and jazz swing, and classic country at Sebastopol Center for the Arts on Sunday, August 28, from 2 to 4 p.m. on the North Patio as part of the summer Patio Concert series.

The trio of Cary Black (bass/vocals), Raul Reynoso (guitar), and Sara Winge (rhythm guitar/vocals) were friends before joining together musically. Cary Black’s path has crossed with the Kingston Trio, Dan Hicks, and the Grand Ole Opry. Raul Reynoso has been nominated “Instrumentalist of the Year” three times by the Western Music Association. Sarah Winge has been a member of Sonoma County bands including HiJinks, Terra Nova, and Hopkin & Winge; her vocals range from hard-driving bluegrass, romantic ballads, and country weepers.
