Folk Notes

Letter from Steve DeLap, President

January 10, 2025

HI Everyone;

I’m sending this note to all our Members of the Sonoma County Folk Society in appreciation and thanks to all who attended our Year End Fifth Sunday, PotLuck, and Jam. The food was excellent, the Jams inspiring, and the smiles were huge. Whether you were able to come to our Year End Festivities or not, thanks for your Folk Society Membership. This helps make all our Folk Society activities possible.

That being said, we are especially grateful to all the volunteers who came early and stayed late to help set up, organize, and clean up the food, put out, and take down tables and chairs, put out decorations and for all those who were standing by to do whatever was needed. We are also especially thankful to that great Old-Time Band, Crooked Holler, who blessed us with some really special “Dinner Music”, And thanks To our very active Sonoma County Folk Society Board. Janet Dove, Chris Finn, Michael Stadler and long time friend and Newest Board Member, Janette Duncan. They spent the last 3 months, planning, organizing, arranging and publicizing this Year End Celebration. It all turned out as a wonderfully successful, and enjoyable Party. Many thanks to All. Here’s to more fun music gatherings in the New Year.

Incidentally, as of January 1st, Michael Stadler is leaving the Board due to increased work demands. We’re sorry to lose his wisdom, wit and his good advice. We do hope to see, and hear, more of Mike’s wonderful voice and excellent guitar technique. Typically, in leaving, Mike blessed us with a number of “Rise up Singing” books to enhance our Singer’s Circle supplies as well as a couple of very fine workshops. Hey Mike, thanks, we will miss you.

Steve DeLap, President,
Sonoma County Folk Society
