Folk Notes

Letter from the Board of Directors

May 9, 2024

The Board of Directors for the Sonoma County Folk Society wishes to thank Mark Hogan for his many years of service working with us on the Board. Mark has been instrumental in organizing the Sonoma County Bluegrass and Folk Festival for decades and has served an integral role in pulling together community partners to provide music and events over many years. Mark is leaving the board to cut back on his commitments and spend more time working on his banjo licks! Thank you Mark!

With Mark’s departure we now have three open positions on our board. We are taking applications and will be doing interviews within the next few months and are eager to find people who are interested in working with us.

Look over our website to learn about us and consider requesting an application by emailing us at: socofoso@gmail.com

We hope to hear from people who are interested in folk/Americana music, are available and willing to attend a monthly meeting and follow through on proposed projects, have good communication skills, are willing to learn new skills, are comfortable with electronic communications and have time to devote to our organization. Experience with publicity, legal, financial, development/grant writing, website development/maintenance, and taking minutes would be a bonus.

Thank you for checking us out! We hope you will consider joining us.

Steve DeLap, Janet Dove, Chris Finn and Michael Stadler

Board of Directors, SoCoFoSo
