Red Wine Concert – IBMA Award winning Bluegrass band from Italy

The Sebastopol Community Cultural Center (SCCC) along with the Sonoma County Folk Society (SOCOFOSO) and the California Bluegrass Association (CBA) are excited to present one of Europe’s leading acoustic bands.  The Italian bluegrass music ensemble Red Wine, will make their first ever appearance in Sebastopol on September 9, 2023, in the Youth Annex of the SCCC.  Formed in 1978, Red Wine got its start in Genoa, Italy, and later expanded to most of northern Italy.

Red Wine played the International Bluegrass Music Association’s (IBMA) World Of Bluegrass, then held in Nashville, Tennessee in 2007, followed by an appearance at the Hardly Strictly Bluegrass Festival in San Francisco three years in a row thru 2009, and made frequent tours of the United States thru 2019.

This year Red Wine will receive the IBMA Distinguished Achievement Award which “Honors those individuals and organizations in bluegrass music who have proven to be forerunners in their field of endeavor and have fostered bluegrass music’s image with developments that will broaden the music’s image with developments that will broaden the music’s recognition and accessibility.” Red Wine writes much of its own material and cover the gamut from traditional to contemporary bluegrass.

Tickets for the September 9th concert will be sold at the door only. $30 general admission, $25 for California Bluegrass Association and SOCOFOSO members.
