WELCOME!
Welcome to the new Sonoma County Folk Society (SoCoFoSo) website! Our aim is that our all-volunteer 501-C-3 organization will become an improved resource for your interests in acoustic, folk, Americana, bluegrass, old-time, swing, international and singer-songwriter music. You’ll find dozens of useful links here at socofoco.com
Take a few minutes exploring our site—learn about our History, Mission, Current Activities, Contributions to the Community and more. Did you know that we support Kids Music Camps? music in senior residential facilities? acoustic radio programming? and jams open to the public? On our Community Page, we also offer listings of local acoustic-friendly venues, jams, radio programs, dances, camps, bands and lessons. (SoCoFoSo Members still get a free listing under “Lessons”)
Features of our new website include a comprehensive calendar of local music and events of interest to “Folkies”. You can search by the month, by the day, or view a complete list. It’s great! To submit additional appropriate events to the calendar, please send info to socofoso@gmail.com
We are now offering Folk Notes—the online version. Hard copy issues will be mailed out less frequently. Our Folk Notes Web Page is where you’ll find articles of interest, reviews, announcements from the board, a cartoon now and then, and appreciation for our sponsors, and Folk Notes archives. We will continue to encourage our members to contribute items for Folk Notes—this keeps things interesting and fresh!
Also note the changes with SoCoFoSo memberships. We are now allowing new members to join and renew through PayPal. Current members will be receiving information soon about the renewal process.
If you have questions, comments or suggestions for the SoCoFoSo Board, feel free to contact us at socofoso@gmail.com
We welcome your feedback!
